Which areas do you cover?

Midlands Roof Box Hire are proud to offer a face to face service at our unit in Tamworth and we cover all of the West Midlands including Coventry, Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Solihull and Sutton Coldfield. We also offer a delivery service to your home where we can install at your home. This is perfect if you are struggling to find someone to look after the children or find the time to travel to us. Please note the home delivery service does incur an additional charge.

Why should I the customer hire with Midlands Roof Box Hire instead of buying our own roof box?

There are many reasons why hiring is more convenient. The amount of money saved is around £300 - £500 compared to buying all the equipment. Also having the space to store all the equipment is not always possible for people as they do take up a lot of space. If you change your car, the equipment you have already purchased would more than likely need to be changed to suit and fit the next vehicle. Some people also find that they think if they buy all the equipment they will use it regularly but then find that they do not and it stays in their shed or garage unused.

How much notice do you need for me to hire a roof box from Midlands Roof Box Hire?

We require 2-7 days notice. This ensures we have the fittings you require for your car to be in stock. During high peak holiday times customers need to be booking as soon as you have your dates for travelling to avoid disappointment.

Will your roof boxes fit my car?

You will need to let us know your car registration and from that we will be able to tell you if there is a fixing kit available. In reality we can fit 99% of standard cars.

How do I make payment to you?

We do not require payment at all up front. You can pay on the of your fitting by cash or bank transfer, whichever is best for you.

Are your roof boxes safe and secure?

All of our roof boxes are Thule which are waterproof and lockable. They are made of ABS plastic and have undergone rigorous crash testing.

What I.D is required for me to hire a roof box?

You will need to bring proof of address, which could be either your driving licence as well as a utility bill or bank statement on the day of installation.

How much of my stuff can I fit into the roof box?

Most of our roof boxes range from 450 litres to 470 litres in size. For example, an average car boot is around 420 litres in size so our roof boxes will give you more than an average car boot extra space.

Am I okay to bring my kids with me when I have my roof box fitted?

Of course. You can either sit in your car whilst the fitting takes place or you can wander around our yard with views of the country side. The alternative is we can come to your house to fit the cars for ease, please bare in mind there will be a charge for this.

How long does it take to fit one of your roof boxes?

On average it only takes between 30-40 minutes to fit all the equipment, show you how to use the roof box and have you on your journey.

What sort of insurance do you hold?

We hold a £2 million Public and Products Liability Insurance to offer complete peace of mind to our customers.

Can I travel abroad with your equipment?

Of course. We have lots of customers who travel around Europe with our equipment fitted and find the extra storage space extremely useful. Just makesure you notify the relevant ferry or Eurostar due to the additional height of the vehicle with the equipment fitted, but this is usually just an easy tick box option on the booking site.

Why do you not take deposits and what happens if I damage the equipment?

We pride ourselves in being the only roof box company in the West Midlands area to not take any security deposits. Our professional team fit our top quality equipment and also spend time showing our customers how to operate the equipment in order to minimise the chances of any damage occurring. On the very rare occasion that our equipment is damaged, we will first of all see if we can repair it ourselves at our unit at an absolute minimum to our customer. In the worst case scenario we would simply replace the roof box at cost price to the customer, we would never look to profit on this.
